The sensational Spectacular Bid, with groom Herman Hall and trainer Bud Delp at Keeneland in April 1979.

The heavily favored colt was piloted by Ronnie Franklin to an impressive 7-length victory over Lot o’ Gold in the 1979 Blue Grass Stakes. The future Racing Hall of Famer paid $2.10 - the smallest straight payoff in Blue Grass history.
