Flavien Prat celebrates aboard Zandon

Flavien Prat celebrates his 2022 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes victory aboard Zandon. The win was the colt’s second in his first four starts and Prat’s first Blue Grass victory.

Bred by Brereton Jones, trained by Chad Brown, and campaigned by Jeffrey Drown, Zandon finished third in the Kentucky Derby four weeks later. Following the Derby, he finished in the money in his next three starts in the Jim Dandy and Travers Stakes at Saratoga and the Pennsylvania Derby at Parx Racing.

As a four-year-old, Zandon boasted three consecutive second-place finishes in the Westchester Stakes and Metropolitan Handicap at Belmont before a solid run in Saratoga’s Whitney Stakes in August. He won the Woodward Stakes at Belmont in October 2023, rounding out an impressive four-year-old season.
