Trained by Doug O’Neill and owned by Reddam Racing, the Tiznow colt out of the Storm Cat mare Silken Cat was tested by Practical Joke in the stretch. Irap dug in, prevailing over the seven-horse field by 3/4 length, securing his first career win at Keeneland’s Spring Meet showcase stakes.

Irap would go on to win the Ohio Derby in June and the Indiana Derby in July before his third-place finish in the Travers Stakes at Saratoga in late August 2017.

The three-year-old colt was ranked 11th by North American earnings in 2017.
