Description

Conformation shot of the American Thoroughbred Exterminator.

Despite his critics’ focus on his appearance (earning Exterminator the nickname of ‘Old Bones’), Exterminator appears on several top 100 horses of the 20th century lists.

Exterminator was foaled near Nicholasville, Kentucky, in 1915 and changed ownership several times over his seven-year racing career during which he set two world records (1920 Saratoga Cup, 1920 Autumn Gold Cup), held a 50-17-17 record from 100 starts, and earned $252,996.

Exterminator was inducted into the U.S. Racing Hall of Fame in 1957.
