U.S. Racing Hall of Famer Spectacular Bid (1979 American Champion Three-Year-Old Male Horse and 1980 American Horse of the Year) took the 1979 Meadowlands Cup. He was also the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner in 1979.
