The collection (ca. 400,000 items) is comprised of black and white acetate negatives depicting Thoroughbred races at multiple race tracks in New York and Florida; as well as Triple Crown events, United Hunts races, and other Eastern steeplechase events from 1935 to 1961. Subjects include race finishes, winner’s circle ceremonies, opening day ceremonies, course views, jockeys, owners, and trainers. Several negatives are accompanied by newspaper clippings of race results.</text>
