Description

This conformation photograph, taken at Calumet Farm in 1957, features the American Thoroughbred Bardstown.

Bardstown, bred at Calumet and trained by Horace A. Jones, began his four-year racing career at the age of four due to early hip and ankle issues. He set a track record at Tropical Park with his 1959 Orange Bowl Handicap win, and he retired in 1960 with a successful older horse racing career record of 18-7-1 from 31 starts and earnings of $628,752.
