Artwork featured in John McEvoy’s Through the Pages of the Daily Racing Form published by the DRF Press and illustrated by Peb in 1995 to commemorate the publication’s first 100 years (1894 to 1994).
Calumet Farm’s Citation claimed the Triple Crown in 1948, the same year he earned the titles of American Champion Three-Year-Old Horse and American Horse of the Year.
The feature originally accompanied a DRF article highlighting the rivalry between Citation and Noor published on December 4, 1950. Noor beat Citation in four of their five encounters that year.
