Peb's artwork depicts racehorses Kelso (jockey Bill Shoemaker up), Carry Back, and Beau Purple before the 1962 Monmouth Handicap.
Beau Purple defeated Kelso in three of their four lifetime meetings. Although Carry Back had claimed the 1961 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, Kelso was named American Horse of the Year in 1961.
Carry Back won the 1962 Monmouth Handicap with jockey John L. Rotz up, conquering Kelso, the then two-time Horse of the Year.

Peb's artwork depicts racehorse Spicy Living under a “Triple Crown Honey” beehive hanging in the Coaching Club American Oaks “tree” of 1963. The Coaching Club American Oaks was run at Aqueduct Racetrack that year.
U.S. Racing Hall of Fame jockey Bobby Ussery, winner of the 1962 American Oaks riding Bramalea, is also depicted; as well as racehorses Smart Deb, Bramalea, Funloving, Cicada, and Bowl of Flowers.
