Items in this collection were digitized from the Keeneland Library’s Bernard Stanley Morgan Photographic Negative Collection. The collection (ca. 400,000 items) is comprised of black and white acetate negatives depicting Thoroughbred races at multiple race tracks in New York and Florida; as well as Triple Crown events, United Hunts races, and other Eastern steeplechase events from 1935 to 1961. Subjects include race finishes, winner’s circle ceremonies, opening day ceremonies, course views, jockeys, owners, and trainers. Several negatives are accompanied by newspaper clippings of race results.

This photograph captures a 1960 Jockey Club Gold Cup trophy presentation at Aqueduct. On the far left is John W. Hanes. Hanes was President of the New York Racing Association from from 1954 to 1960 and President of the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame from 1968 to 1970. Next to Hanes is Hall of Fame jockey Eddie Arcaro.
Behind Arcaro is Simon Wetherby, and to the right of Wetherby is Mrs. Richard du Pont, or Helena Allaire Crozer. Second from the right is Carl H. Hanford, and Edward Bird is on the far right.

The Peb Collection showcases a representative digitized sample of the artwork of Pierre Bellocq, who signs his work as "Peb". Peb worked for the Morning Telegraph and the Daily Racing Form for over 50 years illustrating jockeys, trainers, horses, and owners, as well specific horse races and generalized comic cartoons.
