Alysheba in 1987 Blue Grass

1987 Champion Three-Year-Old Male, 1988 Horse of the Year, and future Hall of Famer Alysheba runs alongside two other horses in the 1987 running of the Blue Grass. Guided by Chris McCarron, Alysheba won the race but was disqualified and placed to third, giving trainer D. Wayne Lukas his first Blue Grass victory with the colt War owned by Tom Gentry.
Alysheba went on to win the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes in his next two starts.
