This photograph captures a 1960 Jockey Club Gold Cup trophy presentation at Aqueduct. On the far left is John W. Hanes. Hanes was President of the New York Racing Association from from 1954 to 1960 and President of the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame from 1968 to 1970. Next to Hanes is Hall of Fame jockey Eddie Arcaro.
Behind Arcaro is Simon Wetherby, and to the right of Wetherby is Mrs. Richard du Pont, or Helena Allaire Crozer. Second from the right is Carl H. Hanford, and Edward Bird is on the far right.

Peb's artwork depicts Helena Allaire du Pont, owner of U.S. Racing Hall of Famer Kelso, with trainer Carl Hanford and U.S. Racing Hall of Fame jockey Ismael Milo Valenzuela, Kelso’s predominant rider from 1962.
Kelso held the title of American Horse of the Year for five consecutive years (1960 to 1964).
