Although Davona Dale did not win the Alabama Stakes, she won the Kentucky Oaks, Coaching Club American Oaks, Acorn Stakes, Mother Goose Stakes, Fantasy Stakes, Black-Eyed Susan Stakes, and Bonnie Miss Stakes in 1979.

Owned by Eugene V. Klein and trained by D. Wayne Lukas, Open Mind won four of her six starts in 1988.
Her eight 1989 wins include the Forward Gal Stakes, Bonnie Miss Stakes, Pimlico Oaks, Kentucky Oaks, Acorn Stakes, Mother Goose Stakes, Coaching Club American Oaks, and the Alabama Stakes.
Open Mind’s Alabama Stakes victory marked her tenth consecutive win.
