The west end of the Grandstand was renovated in 1998, adding an additional 15,200 square feet of climate-controlled space. Workers build added mutuel windows and spaces for televisions.

Keeneland purchased acreage in 1990 on what is now The Hill. The old stud barn, on property that was owned and leased by a number of families over decades, was renovated and reopened as the Entertainment Center in 1997.
