1990s
At the start of the 1990s, Keeneland began one of its largest construction projects, the addition of a fourth floor to the Grandstand which included 22 corporate boxes, the Lafayette Room, and the Phoenix Room for dining, overlooking the Paddock. The Paddock Shop, a new gift shop on the ground floor of the Grandstand, opened in 1991.
The entrance at the intersection of Versailles Road and Man o' War Boulevard was built in 1995. The first on-site Repository of X-rays opened during the July Yearling Sale in the Sales Pavilion in 1996. In 1997, Keeneland began using a public address system for the first time with track announcer Kurt Becker, who remains in the role today.
The Entertainment Center, part of the renovations of the newly acquired acreage on The Hill, was completed in 1997. The west end of the Grandstand was renovated in 1998, enclosing the 1st and 2nd floors, adding new escalators, doubling the size of the Sports Bar, and creating space for a satellite location of the Paddock Shop.
