Description
The connections for Sintra gather in the Winner’s Circle after the first Challenge Cup. Prior to the 1984 Fall Meet, Keeneland did not have a Winner’s Circle in front of the Grandstand. Previously, presentations were conducted on the infield. The current Winner’s Circle was constructed so Her Majesty would not have to walk across the track. The inaugural trophy for the Challenge Cup was presented by the Queen, and the winner’s name is engraved on it each year.
