Description
Segregated grandstand at Keeneland in 1941. Under segregation laws in the state of Kentucky, public facilities including racetracks were required to provide separate communal areas for people of color. It was not until the 1966 Kentucky Civil Rights Act that public spaces became desegregated in the state.
